The wedding photo sharing app built for Mumbai weddings

PicUnionApp is a wedding photo sharing app built for Mumbai weddings — the ones that run across five functions, three venues and four hundred guests. One QR code covers the whole wedding, from the haldi at home to the reception in Bandra, and every guest's photos land in a single private gallery the family can download in full quality.

A Mumbai wedding is five events, not one

A wedding here rarely fits in a single day or a single hall. There is the roka, the mehndi at somebody's flat, the haldi in the morning, the sangeet at a banquet hall, the ceremony, and the reception — often across South Bombay, the suburbs, and occasionally Alibaug or Lonavala. Each function has a partially different guest list and an entirely different set of phones pointing at it.

What the family ends up with is five disconnected piles: one WhatsApp group per function, a few AirDrops, and a professional gallery that covers two of the six events. The complete story of the wedding never exists in one place, and the photos from the smallest, most personal functions — the ones no photographer was booked for — are the first to disappear.

What you get

Built for how weddings in mumbai actually run

One gallery, every venue

Haldi at home, sangeet at the banquet hall, reception in the suburbs — one link and one QR code covers all of them.

A folder per function

Mehndi, haldi, sangeet, ceremony, reception. Guests upload into the right folder so the album reads in order.

Printed with the invite

Add the QR to the invitation card, the welcome board, and the table cards. Guests scan it at whichever function they attend.

Guests who could not travel

Relatives who missed a function or could not fly in still see everything the same evening, at full quality.

Handed to your editor

Export the whole wedding as a zip at original resolution — useful raw material for the wedding film and the album.

Private to the family

Link or QR access with an optional passcode. Nothing public, nothing indexed, and you can remove any photo.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

    1

Create the gallery at the roka

Set it up as soon as the dates are fixed. Everything from the first function onward accumulates in the same place.

    2

    Add a folder per function

Name them the way the family names them — mehndi, haldi, sangeet, wedding, reception — so nobody has to guess where to upload.

    3

Print the QR on the invite and the venue signage

One code on the card, one on the welcome board at each venue. That is enough coverage for a four-hundred-guest wedding.

    4

    Download everything after the reception

One zip with every function, at original resolution, ready for your photographer, editor, or the family hard drive.

Destination weddings out of Mumbai

Alibaug, Lonavala, Goa, Udaipur — a large share of Mumbai weddings now happen somewhere else, with a smaller travelling guest list and a much larger group of relatives at home who could not make the trip. That split creates a real problem: the people with the photos are on the trip, and the people who most want to see them are not.

A live gallery closes that gap on the same day. Relatives at home open the link and watch the functions fill in as they happen, rather than waiting a month for an edited film. For the couple, it also means the smaller travelling group's candid photos are captured properly instead of staying inside a travel-group chat.

  • Family at home follows each function the same evening
  • Works on hotel and venue wifi, or on mobile data
  • One gallery covers the whole multi-day itinerary
  • Full-resolution export once everyone is back

For Mumbai wedding planners and photographers

If you run weddings professionally in Mumbai, a guest gallery is a low-effort addition to what you already deliver. It costs nothing to set up per event, it gives the family something visible on the day itself, and the live slideshow at the reception is the kind of detail clients mention afterwards.

For photographers specifically, it is also a source of coverage you were never going to get: the getting-ready room you were not in, the two hours after your contracted time, and the functions the family did not book you for. Many photographers now set the gallery up on the family's behalf and hand over the QR code with the shoot plan.

  • Set up per wedding in about two minutes
  • Live slideshow as a visible deliverable on the day
  • Guest coverage of functions outside the shoot contract
  • Full-resolution export to fold into the wedding film
